Gary Vaynerchuk’s #crushit Book Review

My first ever video book review: Crush It. Short jist: it’s an excellent read for anybody who hasn’t seen any of Gary Vaynerchuk’s videos and still a fun read with lots of reminders for anybody who already is a fan (as well as a super secret marketing strategy which I don’t talk about in the review!). Let me know what you guys think of the book if you’ve read it!

Boys and their Toys: G.I. Joe Review

GI Joe Movie: Snake Eyes As it often is with action remakes of children superheroes, GI Joe received a bad vibe from critics. However, I found the movie to be extremely entertaining and well done. There are aircrafts, hand to hand combat, ninja stars, sword fights, submarines, nuclear missiles, all sorts of guns, and who could forget those halo super human enhancement suits. And they managed to do it all under 2 hours. Micheal Bay take note!

This is not to say that the movie is perfect. The ending leaves some major question marks, and although it signifies there will definitely be a sequel, it could have used some closure. I have a feeling that my girlfriend would not have enjoyed this movie as much as I did as it is surely targeted for the male audience. I admit that I never followed the GI Joe cartoon as a kid so I have no idea if it depicts the timeline properly, but after some wikipedia-ing, it seems to follow the story fairly close.

But overall, it was action filled from front to end with flashbacks that were tastefully done. Marlon Wayans provided some good humour to support Channing Tatum’s always serious look, and Sienna Miller…wow. I would definitely recommend it to any dude out there in search of a good action flick or any girl who’s a fan of Channing Tatum.

M&M Ear Bud Headphones Unripping & Review

I got an unboxing video for you all today, only there’s no actual box. I found a pair of M&M Ear buds (made by Maxell) on sale for $9.99CAD at my local London Drugs and couldn’t resist picking up a pair for myself. They came in 5 different colors (Pink, White, Blue, Orange, and Red) and I was going to go with the classic iPod white but ended up with since that’s an actual M&M color.

I’ve had a about a week or so to play with them and I have to say that I’m very pleased. I’m no audiophile by any means so if you’re looking for a serious review, you’re going to have to look elsewhere. I found the sound to be decent and comparable to my generic Apple branded ear buds if not better. However, I did notice a bit of tin and the sound was bass-ier and deeper than normal. They sit quite comfortably in the ear but I had to change to the medium sized buds because the ones that were initially in the video were too small. My greatest surprise was the amount of noise cancellation. Since they are in-ear headphones, I expected a bit more of noise cancellation than my Apple headphones, but the cancellation performed up to par with the JVC Air Cushion, Sony MDR EX32LP and Skullcandy Smokin Buds. All the ones I mentioned retail around the $40-$50 CAD range so this is an awesome buy in that respect.. One last thing I have to mention though is that after a week’s use, the M logo on my buds have now faded a little so that’s a bit of a disappointment. However, if you’re Bottom line, if you are a M&M fan and just want some replacements for your worn out generic headphones, this is a must buy.

Pros:
- Great price
- M&M inspired
- Excellent Noise Cancellation
- 5 different colors
- 2 different sized ear cushions
- ‘lifetime’ limited warranty

Cons:
- M&M design fades over use
- Tinny sound
- Sound is too bassy
