The Macbooks are coming!
Okay, so this student hasn’t posted as of late, and you can blame it on midterm season. En fait, I have one this afternoon. However, I had to take 10 minutes out of my ‘studying’ and let everyone know that the new Apple Macbooks and Macbook pros are officially coming out next Tuesday October the 14th. (For Canadians, that’s Election Day as well as the day after Thanksgiving Long Weekend). So your order of events that day should be something like: wake up, throw up some turkey, vote, and then buy the new laptop. You can tell how excited I am by the amount of ‘!’ in this post.
Why the free hype? Have you seen my powerbook? This has been one of the most anticipated and mysterious notebook releases, as there has much much speculation about whether or not it would actually be coming. The rumors subsided when the media invite came out this morning. Another rumor says the low end one is coming out at $800 (PC users, this is like 300 dollars for a brand new laptop). And the thing is, even if you don’t like what comes out, prices on the older macs will definitely drop and even vista users should feel the price impact.

Unfortunately, I will be doing my part at the elections on Oct. 14 in order to pay for my silly electronics obsession so you won’t hear much of me that day. Speaking of which, the Blackberry Storm is also coming. Sam’s mouth: drool. Sam’s wallet: groan. What an exciting and poor time to be a gadget freak. Back to the books!
